JA Middle Grades Programs

 

 

Middle Grade Programs focus on entrepreneurship, personal finance, global economy, and career exploration/workforce readiness. JA middle school programs encourage student retention through the transition from middle school into high school and guide students as they begin to think critically about future career aspirations and their leadership potential.

JA Economics for Success™ Minimize

(7th Grade) JA Economics for Success™ explores personal finance and students’ education and career options based on their skills, interests, and values. It also demonstrates the economic benefits of staying in school. Six required, volunteer-led activities. Program can be implemented in any middle grade level.

JA America Works™ Minimize

(8th Grade) JA America Works™ provides students with examples of how business and entrepreneurship affected the economic development of the United States during the 19th century. Six required, volunteer-led activities. Program can be implemented in any middle grade level.

JA Global Marketplace™ Minimize

(6th Grade) JA Global Marketplace™ provides practical information about the global economy and its effect on students’ lives. Six required, volunteer-led activities. Program can be implemented in any middle grade level.

JA It’s My Business!™ Minimize

JA It’s My Business!™ (After School) encompasses entrepreneurship curriculum for students in grades six, seven, and eight. The program emphasizes entrepreneurship while providing a strong focus on social studies, reading, and writing skills. Program can be used in classroom and after school setting.

All JA programs are designed to support the skills and competencies identified by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. These programs also augment school-based, work-based, and connecting activities for communities with school-to-work initiatives.
