Junior Achievement volunteers play a key role in bringing JA to life. By sharing your personal and professional experiences and skills with students from your community, you help them make the connection between what they are learning in school and what they will need to succeed in work and life.

"A fabulous experience for me. I would defiantly volunteer to do this again." -GE Volunteer

- High School- 45 minutes, 5-8 lessons
What do I teach?
Volunteers teach financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship concepts from predeveloped curriculum appropriate for grade level they are assigned to teach. A “kit” is provided to all JA volunteers. The kit includes everything a volunteer needs to teach all lessons. Volunteers receive a kit during their training session.
Do I really have anything to offer these kids?
ABSOLUTELY! Students in Western CT should know about the business world around them and all the opportunities available to them. You are the KEY to that knowledge. Your experiences and familiarity with the business world are exactly what the kids should hear about! You are also a role model to the students by illustrating where secondary education can lead them. Above all, you can give the students a chance to be heard, share their ideas and give them support and encouragement!
When would I be teaching?
All classes run during the school day, between approximately 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
